This past Cinco de Mayo was very special as our ArtLeadHER platform held it’s opening reception for our 1st Annual All-Women’s Exhibit in conjunction with the Joseph Gross Gallery.
ArtLeadHER is a group show curated by Mashonda Tifrere with work from eighteen contemporary female artists at various stages of their careers, highlighting the contributions and dispositions of working female artists in the modern market. These artists include: Swoon, Kristin Farr, Ingrid Baars, Lala Abaddon, Sandra Chevier, Monica Canilao, Alison Mosshart, Elizabeth Wagget, Karmimadeebora McMillan, Anna Faith Nicholls, Meredith Marsone, Angie Crabtree, Casey Watson, Laurel DeWitt, Diana Munoz, Clara Fialho, Lacy Barry, and Kit King.
Though we live in a generation where women leaders are on a steady rise, there are still challenges that are marked by living in a patriarchal society. Looking at the ratio of men to women representation in the arts for example, highlights quite a jarring disproportion of artist depiction.
